I would think getting a reseller host and making a new domain for each niche would be the best option. eg www.niche keyword/blog
This may not be cost effective so what would be better from an SEO standpoint;
www.blogger.com/niche keyword/blog
or
www.mydomain.com/niche keyword/blog

i would suggest keyword/blog since it would keep adding fresh content to ur site..which vl help u in getting faster indexing…
also such hosting vl give u better ranking than hosting it on blogger.com….
there is no penalty but more gain actually if you use google own blogs it gives higher ranks. I prefer this keyword/blog
